Reflection(Understanding) of First Triangulation

Layers of Time
First Triangulation documents and showcases all the moments of recognizable time through the website using senses used in photography. Time is not an absolute concept from a scientific point of view, as it can be felt through various perceptions and approaches, as we have already experienced in our lives. In the last term, I tried to explore how the appearance of time and potential memories are situated within the four-dimensional space of time. Among the iterations covered in this broad theme, there was a part that explored time and memory through photography, and this concept was brought to the key point of this iteration. In other words, in 4D time, I focused on the concept of simultaneity, and in photography, I tried to express the appearance of each layer of time in 4D by borrowing the concept of our human perception of CMYK. In order to sense the passage of time, a change in the matter is necessary. Therefore, the process of growing mold in food is documented and layered to show the simultaneity of time, revealing a 4D perspective, and emphasizing the simultaneity with the combination of colors we perceive on printed photos. The premises of this process are as follows; 1. The time that looks like 3D, lies in 4D where every moment of time exists just like places. 2. Therefore, Time is not a linear concept in their 4D environment, and every moment of time can actually happen at the same time. 3. To show this, layering of all the moments in one moment would work. 4. These layered appearances can be portrayed in an imaginative way, especially regarding photography which catches the moment for memory, and translates it into CMYK. With these premises, Watching every moment of food getting mold in humans’ perception can show that If all the units of the present time we live in 3D are spread out like a single space, it becomes a 4D space. If one element, time, is added in the existing three-dimensional frame of 3D, it becomes 4D, and this space-time can be freely roamed.

Feedback
- Interesting visuals and ideas to put time stretched in the website manner in cmyk.
- It might benefit from making the colours in a physical manner, for instance, making it into a flip book, printing it on a transparent paper, etc.
- Trying different types of time, other than food, can be explored further.
- Making it riso but mentioned as follows; it might be obsolete because it is not cymk based.
- Suggestive references: colour library, using elements from printing test sheets(colour bars, etc) Since this project circles around photography and its printing combination, elements of printing test sheets can be explored.
